    Types of Auctions
    Region
    Category
    Item Title
    Duration, Quantity and Price
    Item Description
    Payment and Shipping details
(a) Type of Auctions

Standard Auction A Standard Auction is one in which bidding raises the price incrementally. Standard auctions can have a Reserve Price , and use Proxy Bidding . The winner of a Standard Auction is the person with the highest bid at the end of the auction. The auction is considered successful if the Reserve Price has been met. If the Reserve Price was not met, the auction is considered unsuccessful and the item owner is under no obligation to sell the item.

Dutch Auction A Dutch Auction label only applies to multiple-item Auctions. A single quantity Auction is a Standard Auction. In a Dutch Auction, all Winning bidders get their items at the price of the lowest Winning bid. There is no Automatic Bidding or Reserve Price for Dutch Auctions. Example, a Dutch auction has 10 items for sale. The opening price for the items is INR 10,000 each. After the auction opens, 20 people place equal bids for the items at INR 10,000 each. If the auction were to close at this point, the first 10 people to bid would be declared the winners, because earlier bids take precedence over later bids of equal amount (and in this case, quantity). However, before the auction closes, a new bidder places a bid of INR 15,000 for one of the items. Because this person has the highest bid, he/she will most certainly win one of the 10 auction items. The remaining 9 items are won by the first 9 bidders who bid at INR 10,000. However, because all bids clear at the lowest winning bid, the person who bid INR 15,000 will only be required to pay INR 10,000 for the item. By bidding over opening price, new bidders can essentially knock the earlier low bidders out of the running. INR: Indian Rupees

Click on thte left side of the relevant category to select it. Choosing the right category under which a item will be classified is very important. Users or potential buyers search for the items they desire under the relevant categories. In order for your item to catch their attention, it should appear under the relevant listing.

(d) Item Title
This is the title of your firearms which an interested buyer will see on seaching in a particular category.

Purchase Now is the price at which the bidding will stop further and the bidder will be sold the item.

(f) Item Description
In the space provided, a brief description of the item should be given so that it provides information to bidders and at the same time makes the item attractive. 4. How do I sell multiple items using auctions?

To set up an auction for multiple items of the same type, you would be creating a Dutch Auction. You will need to enter the quantity available of the same item that you will be selling in the space provided for "Item Quantity" in the "Set up duration, quantity & price" section on the "Sell Form" form. Learn more about how to sell an item. When you set up an auction for multiple items, you should note that any price you set should not be considered collectively for all the items. The start and reserve price is always taken as per item. Therefore you should be careful when you set the price for multiple items and set the start and reserve price accordingly.

Automatic Relisting This optional setting will automatically relist your item for you if it did not get sold at the end of the auction. Thus you would not have to relist it manually if you did not have a winning bid placed on your item. You have the choice of relising your option the following day. Relist the following day - the auction will be relisted the day after it closes. e.g. If the auction closes on Thursday then it will be relisted on Friday with the same start time and the same duration.

Note: The number of items that have been won in the old auction will reduce the quantity of the new auction. If there are no more items remaining to be won, the item will not be relisted. You also need to set the number of times you would like the item to be relisted - Submit Form Once you hit the "Save this New Auction" button and confirmed the details, the item will be put up for auction. You will be taken to a page from which you can view or modify the item. My picture does not show! If your picture appears as a red cross in a box, there is a problem with the URL you entered. Please check that you entered the URL correctly and in this format: http://Host Server/Path/File.Extension. These have to end in .gif, .jpg, .jpeg or .png. You can check your URL by modifying the item if no bids have been placed and making any necessary changes. 20. What is the Rating System and how does it work?

TOP

There are 3 numbers next to a Seller's Username or your Username when bidding. Those numbers show you how many Positive Comments (indicated with a "+" sign), Neutral Comments (center number) and Negative comments (indicated with a "-" sign) other Members have made for that Member. All Ratings have a link for the other party to reply and also have a link to the particular Item in question. With this New Rating System, Members can now view each Positive, Negative or Neutral comment and determine for themselves what the story is behind a particular Rating or Item.
  • Each Item Page will have a detailed display of Positive, Negative and Neutral Ratings for all Buyers and Seller participating for an Auction
  • Once a Member has been rated, they have the ability to Reply to a rating, which lets other Members view both sides of the story.
  • Each rating will be separated by individual Items with a Link to each respective item
We hope with anticipation that this new system of displaying ratings on every page and the ease of use to follow the history of an auction and it's outcome, relative to Buyer and Seller, will promote members to rate other members they have interacted with on gunaccessory.com. Please refer to our Rating System Rules for more information.

21. Why should I rate the buyer of Items I have Sold? How do I rate someone?

TOP

For answers to these questions and others, and for a detailed explanation of our Rating System, please refer to our Rating System Rules.
